About Jack Holland and the art of leather box making
When Jack turned ten, his father decided that any kid worth their salt should have a job. So bright and early on a Monday morning, Jack was dropped off at a saddle maker’s shop in San Francisco. Needless to say a life-long passion ensued. Jack Holland can make just about anything from leather, but today his interest lies in the art of making leather boxes. Working daily in his Sausalito studio, Jack typically spends a few weeks on each project, creating one-of-a-kind pieces entirely by hand. His cult following appreciates his impeccable eye for design and the whimsical details that contribute to the uniqueness and beauty of each box. He never makes the same box twice.
Leather box making is truly a disappearing art so we are thrilled that Jack Holland has joined Leather Art Center to teach a series of classes. We're working on the next one so sign up for the newsletter to stay in the loop! Meanwhile, if you're interested in working with Jack one on one, drop us a line.
