The leather tanneries of Fez in Morocco

Like a place frozen in time, tanning techniques in Morocco have remained unchanged since the 11th century. Even though today's modern tanneries use recognizable steps in their process, they are a far cry from the video and pictures below. And make sure to hold your nose: I'm told the stench of a Moroccan tannery is rather traumatic!
